Extension
by Pygmy Projects
Code: Coconut and Flame
Gfx: Cenobit Music: Jester
The kicked Finnish division of the
legendary Silents striked back under a
new name, with this demo at the
Assembly '93. Actually, this demo won
the competition.
This demo is a kind of Sanity like, at
least in the point of code and design.
Coconut and Flame really showed us
hard code, but with less (no?) design.
Almost all effects are mindblowing.
FAST dotlandscape, vector shadows,
night vector-city, and the awesome
effect with the rubber-cubes (I have
no idea how is it called...). The
design is almost non-existing
sometimes the colors are really ugly
(vector shadows part, etc.). Jester's
music really shows us that he is not
#1 for nothing. This is a very
dynamic tune, too bad the coders
didn't make a use of it! Graphics are
very few, but the loader picture is
quite nice.

A.S.S
by Essence
Code: Touchstone and Roman
Gfx: Groo and Rufferto
Music: Dascon and W.O.T.W
Essence's long awaited trackmo was
ought to be released at the 680XX
Convention in July, but they didn't
manage to finish it. But they decide
to release it some weeks after the
party thus not getting any money for
it... Most coders seem to think they
will make a living out of demos...
This demo also has brilliant code,
like Extension, but it is well
designed, too! We can see stunning
effects like the 180 faces
lightsourced vector (I say it again, I
don't know what is percalculated, if I
like something I see, it won't ruin
the image if it is precalculated
(maybe a bit...)), the greetins part,
the television cube and a lot more.
By the way, A.S.S fucked up on a 1200
a lot of times!
But what makes this demo outstanding
are the graphics. G+R will rise
directly to the lead on charts with
pixels like these. Graphics like the
strong guy and the first Essence logo
are making me breathless! (Although
they are copied but NOT scanned...) In
some parts I miss some background for
the routines. Nowadays a cube on the
middle of the screen with a one color
background seems to be outdated. The
musics for me are quite average, but
nice to listen to for a demo.

Rink A Dink
by Lemon.
Code: Paradroid Music: Nuke
Gfx: Facet and Danny
Here comes the first trackmo from the
biggest surprise group of the year.
First I want to say that this demo
will not start on AGA or fast
processors! THIS DEMO WILL NOT START
ON AGA OR FAST PROCESSORS! I hate
when a great demo is coded in such
an inaccurate way... Anyway, the
routines are excellent, and far more
interesting than Paradroid's previous
demo: Deja Vu. It has some of the
best zooming routines on Amiga
possible and beautiful design. and
the tunnel effect is the best yet in
my opinion.
The music is an addition to the new
bassy Nuke style. The co-op titlepic
is simply perfect. But what else
could a Vallejo picture be?! Other
logos and fonts are by Facet only, he
seems to start drawing logos in Rack's
style... The hidden part's music by
Nuke is so funny it has to be heard.

Romantic
by Melon Dezign
Code and Music: Bannasoft
Gfx: Walt, HoF, Mack
The romantic style is born! Again, we
are not disappointed by the most
exciting group around. The whole
thing is just a big idea, but it is
again ahead of the usual (boring?).
The first part shows us that Melon is
hitting hard overseas, too. More
precisely Beverly Hills' everhappy
strong mates and nice girls just
LOOOVE Melon Dezign, and can't wait
for their new demo.
Then something fu**ing nice comes. A
logo by Walt, Mack and HoF. It's in 3
colors lace, and believe me, it is the
logo of the year (or decade?). The
scrool has sooo romantic texts like
"fuck me! Oh! Push! Push!" and so
on. Romance is cool.
The music coop between Bannasoft and
Sex Pistols is very... hmm..
interesting. I love it anyway.

Groovy
by Lemon.
Code:Dan Gfx:Facet, Bli
Music:Spaceman
Nowadays short Lemon. productions
flood the scene, but sometimes I feel
that they should do one big demo
instead of releasing a TRACKMO with
basicly one routine. Well, Groovy is
the kinda demo I wrote about before.
The demo offers you 3 routines from
Dan, but nothing innovative, just an
eye-pleasing small production. The
big routine is a zoomer, the kind of
what you see nowadays in every 2nd
demo.. It looks very nice, maybe not
the biggest, but looks awesome!
Groovy features 2 picture from Facet,
both are unbelievable quality. The
loaderpic reminds me Ray Cokes...
Well, I guess the pictures are copied
(at least the second one is for sure),
but that's another topic.
The music is by Spaceman, and
listening to the it, I guess Spaceman
is Nuke's new handle, coz it really
reminds me Nuke's style. It is not
one of his latest style musics, it is
a track like from Legalize It 1.
All in all, just one demo for the
music and the graphics...

Dream Trippin'
by Digital
Code:Streamline
Music and GFX:Flame
After a long absence, we got a new
trackmo from the English division.
The code by Streamline is very varied,
but through the whole demo, design is
minimal. Some routines are dead boring
like the dotlogo, in contrast to fx
like the credits screen. The whole
demo seems to be a just-put-all-spare-
routines-onto-one-disk-in-a-big-hurry
thing..
The music by Flame sounds TOO much
like a Jester module, even some
samples are the same. Anyway, a very
good and dynamic tune, too bad
Streamline didn't make a use of it.
The pixels are very nice, the best one
is the Digital logo at the beginning.
Amazing work!
All in all, a standard Digital level
demo, but nice for a check...
